Peaks & Practice
Yoga and Hiking in the Italian Dolomites
July 25th - July 31st, 2026
This is a hut-to-hut yoga + hiking retreat through some of the most iconic scenery in Northern Italy. We’ll hike the northern half of Alta Via 1—from Lago di Braies to Cinque Torri—with intentional yoga practice, breathwork, and time to reset into a simpler rhythm: move, eat well, sleep deep, repeat.
You’ll be guided on the trail by Rob Leigh, with yoga instruction led by Jeremy each day - grounded, accessible, and supportive for all levels.
Hosted with Dolomiti Planner on the Alta Via 1
Hiking is the Backbone, Yoga is the Thread
This retreat is built around the hike, with yoga intentionally woven throughout the experience - supporting the body, the breath, and the rhythm of each day in the mountains.
Each morning begins with a thoughtful yoga practice before breakfast and the day’s trek. Along the trail, we’ll pause for short stretches and moments to reset. Evenings wind down with nourishing dinners in alpine rifugi, plus optional yin, breathwork (pranayama), and relaxed conversations around yoga philosophy.
The Route & The Practice
How the days unfold in the mountains.
The Practice
Yoga is offered daily and intentionally designed to support the demands of multi-day hiking. Morning practices are light and preparatory, focusing on mobility, gentle strength, and steady breath to set you up well for the day’s hike.
Along the trail, we’ll pause for brief stretch and breath resets as needed. Evenings are optional and slower, with offerings that may include yin, pranayama, meditation, and relaxed conversations around yoga philosophy - supporting recovery after full days in the mountains.
All levels are welcome.
The Route
We’ll hike the northern half of Alta Via 1, beginning at Lago di Braies and finishing near Cinque Torri. Each day brings varied terrain—forests, passes, open ridgelines, and alpine meadows—ending in welcoming rifugi where we’ll eat, rest, and reset.
The final two nights are spent in the same rifugio near Cortina d’Ampezzo, giving us time to settle in, enjoy a scenic day hike, and (optionally) add a via ferrata with lunch at Rifugio Nuvolau.
